My beloved daughter,
This is a tough week for you, isn't it? A week full of disappointment and doubt. You were disappointed cause you were rejected from working with the kids in summer; you were disappointed cause daddy was giving you hard time to volunteer for someone he was unsure. And this morning you were disappointed by your friends who didn't keep up with their promise. Yes, this is life. No matter how hard we want to be in control, we just can't. I know how bad you feel, being rejected when you are ready for challenge; being criticized when you feel you are good.
What can we do then? Instead of overwhelming with sadness, and allow yourself be free from negativeness, we will find out we are just as good as it gets. Opportunities are always there for those who are ready. Admit that we can't be in control of everything, and give thanks to what we have. Don't be like a dove trying to fly away from burdens, but be like an eagle to soar above the storms.
I was reading Jacob's story in bible these days. He loved to be in control and well planned of his life. He deceived his brother and father for his own good. He even wrestled with God to give him blessings! But when he came to things happened unexpectedly, he returned to God and put up an altar for him! Why? Cuz he knew that someone was bigger and greater than him. He was contented after all. Mother Teresa once said: You will never know God is all you need until He is all you have!
Love
